BOLLYWOOD INSPIRED BEADED CHANDELIER EARRINGS

Writing this took me months to finish. I have a few notes on this one. You may notice that the seed beads I'm using are not evenly shaped, so following the size or number of pieces may be a hit or miss. But one thing you should adhere to is to keep the circles where the pearl bead rests even numbered.

MATERIALS:

FISHHOOK EARRINGS

SEED BEADS

BEAD CAPS

2MM CRYSTAL RONDELLE BEADS

6MM CRYSTAL RONDELLE BEADS

FAUX PEARLS

.02 NYLON THREAD

STEP 1.

Cut about a yard of nylon thread and string in 20 seed beads. Close the circle by inserting the nylon thread through the last three seed beads, and secure it with a knot. Don’t cut the tail just yet.

STEP 2.

String in 1 bead cap, a round pearl bead, and another bead cap. Make sure the pearl sits comfortably on the beaded circle.

STEP 3.

Insert nylon thread through the opposite seed bead and loop back through the bead cap, round pearl, bead cap, and then through the same seed bead where we started- this time inserting the thread on the opposite hole. Repeat step to make it sturdy.

STEP 4.

Now on to the crystal rondelle beads. String in a 2mm, 6mm, and 2mm bead, then loop back to the seed bead. Pass the thread through all four beads to reinforce (crystals and seed bead) and then through the next two seed beads.

STEP 5

Pick up one 2mm rondelle and a 6mm rondelle bead and loop back to the 2mm rondelle bead from the previous round. Pass the thread through the seed bead where we started this round. Repeat to reinforce and then continue through two seed beads to repeat.

When you reach the end, you will only need to pick up one 6mm bead and then repeat the steps to complete this row.

STEP 6.

Pick up two seed beads and pass the thread through the 6mm crystal. Repeat until you complete the circle. Reinforce by going through the beads one more time.

STEP 7.

Exit the thread through a 6mm bead. Pick up 5 seed beads and loop the thread back to the same crystal rondelle bead, setting the seed beads on the side of the crystal. Repeat the step to reinforce. Continue to thread through three seed beads.

STEP 8.

Pick up nineteen (19) seed beads and create an even-numbered circle by threading through the 3rd seed bead from the previous step. Take a bead cap, a pearl, and close with another bead cap, and pass through the opposite seed bead, resting the pearl bead comfortably on the circle. Then loop back through the bead cap, pearl, and bead cap, and through the seed bead, making sure to enter on the opposite side of where the thread started. Since I use a .02 thin nylon, I like to repeat the process to firmly hold the beadwork.

STEP 9.

To end, have the thread exit on the top most seed bead, pick up 4 seed beads and loop back to make a circle, reinforce, knot, and cut the excess thread. Take a fishhook earring, loosen the looped wire to attach the beaded earring, and then re-adjust the looped wire to secure it in place. You may also use a jump ring instead of fastening directly on the fishhook earring if you're using a different earring.
I'm quite proud of this project and hope to see your finished version. Tag me on Facebook or Instagram, and let's share notes!💗
